Here in the English countryside remains the footpath system now updated and remarkably well noted. We hike many miles across fields on private property, through wire gates, kissing gates and over stiles until we reach our intended Pub for a quick pint with lunch and continue our walk-about back to the car. We meet a lot of folks along the way, showing great respect for the private property, locking gates where necessary and greeting us with gusto. No bicycles, no motor bikes only the occasional bull to keep us on our toes! What a great system.
