Day two and I have suggested colors laid down.  This is the beginning of fall at altitude, but the days are still warm allowing the grass around the water to remain green.  Field grass though has topped out to pale ochre.  The distant mountains are still in their summer blue phase though the change to purple is hinted.  I love this shift in color from summer to winter created by cold atmospheric conditions and the lack of chlorophyl in plant material.  The yellows and greens of summer drop out of the pines leaving only hues of red and blue.  True yellows drop out even in summer at great distances in the dry west.  Usually though, artists have to make up some atmospheric conditions to create the feeling of depth.
